海外学子--刘心雨

       我小学六年级从武外毕业，八年级的时候来到多伦多，今年已经是我在加拿大的第三年了。六年级的时候，我在姐姐的影响下申请了BranksomeHall，一所私立女子学校。出国留学对我和我的家人来说都是一个很好却也很不容易的选择，尤其去到一个没有我父母的地方。在多伦多的第一年是十分困难的。英语教学，周围全部的外国人，甚至是只有在电影中才会见到的储物柜，所有的事物对我来说都是不一样的。
I graduated elementary school from Wuhou Foreign Language School of Chengdu, and came to  Canada  in Grade 8. This is already my third year in  Toronto . I applied Branksome Hall ( Toronto ), a private all-girls, in grade 6 under the influence of my cousin Alice Liao. Studying aboard is truly a great but difficult choice for my family and I to make, especially going to a strange country without parents aside. It was tough, the first year in  Toronto  and at Branksome. Everything was new to me, English-styled teaching, everyone surrounding, and even lockers that you only saw in movies.
刚开始的时候，英语是我最大的困难。我很难 明白 老师说的是什么,也很难让老师明白我说的是什么。对我而言,“生活是一场斗争”，充满很多困难.然而,在我的坚持和他人的帮助之下，我慢慢了克服了英语障碍和其他的困难，我成功的熬过第一年，然后一切都开始平稳起来。
At first, English was a big struggle to me. It was hard to understand what teachers said and let teachers understand what I said. For me, “life was a struggle”; however, I overcame English and all the challenges I faced with my perseverance and the help of others. I survived the first year, then everything began to smooth.
我开始参加更多的学校活动,在学校所介绍的活动中找到兴趣与机会。在Branksome的平台上，我们参加国际上的辩论赛，义工和国际交换生活动。在学校里,我们为Green Fashion Show (一个以环保为主题的时装表演)设计服装,收集食物和钱给穷人,并在spirit week和游戏中以年级或家族为单位竞争。在所有的这些活动中志愿服务是其中很大的一个亮点，也是我所喜欢的。在八年级时,我们在一个美术项目上运用版画作工艺为在南非QGap的儿童们制作文具盒和贺卡。九年级,我在一个为大家提供食物和艺术课程的非盈利组织Artcity做义工。现在,我是一个给Branksome小学部教数学的家教。

I started to participate in more school activities, and found interests in all those great opportunities and activities that my school introduced. With Branksome, we debate, doing services, and exchange internationally. In Branksome, we design dresses for green fashion show, collect food and money for the poor, and compete for spirit week and games as grades or clans. One of the highlights of all opportunity is volunteering. In Grade 8, I use print making technics made pencil case and card for children in  QGap ,  South Africa . In ninth grade, I volunteered at Art city, a non-profit organization that provides food and art lessons for local. Now, I am a math tutor for kids at  Branksome   Junior   School .

然而,生活仍然是一场斗争,但英语不再是最大的困难。相反中文对我来说变得更难了。不过此外,还有许多其他很好的机会,我想分享给大家,因为这些志愿活动和在加拿大学习经验,是对我来说是一生一次的经历,我非常感谢我现在拥有的这一切机会。
   
However, life is still a struggle for me, but English is no longer the struggle anymore. On the contrary, Chinese would more likely to be a struggle to me. Additionally, there are many other great opportunities that I want to share to you all; because those experiences that I have at volunteering and studying in Canada is the once in a lifetime experiences for me; and  I am truly grateful for all these.
